What is NLP?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is composed of the 3 components of all human experience:

  1. Neurology (how the brain works)
  2. Language (words, body physiology, eye-accessing, audio tempo, skin color, etc.)
  3. Programming (humans – like all animals – are creatures of habit and are taught to be this way)

And that is just what NLP is – the study of the structure of human experience…as well as the implementation of new, improved choices (structures) for any human who wants it.

"The more choices we have in any given situation, the more freedom we have to choose the best possible outcome. And with greater freedom comes greater success."

If you find that there is something you want more of or something you want less of, NLP provides a set of tools and techniques that allow you to have what you want by giving you more choices and flexibility in life or any chosen area of it.

Without NLP, we each work from our own maps of reality. The word “bottle” creates a different experience (pictures, sounds, words, smells, feelings and/or tastes) for each of us. The words “picture,” “sounds,” “words,” “smells,” “feelings” and “tastes” also all create different experiences for each of us as well.

When we come to the understanding that each person we interact with has a different model or map of reality and then set about getting onto his or her map (not staying on our own), we can help those we work with to have a greater, clearer and overall better experience. Period.

In my time studying and practicing NLP, I have had the opportunity to work with a myriad of people and professionals including:

  • Administrative staff
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Students
  • Single parents
  • Military veterans
  • High performance and professional athletes
